A Fall To Remember

It is New Years Eve today. In a few hours, the clock will strike midnight here in California, as we ring in the new year of 2021. But, sadly, as long as our country remains divided, this New Year will bring nothing new or good to us. Our country continues to be crippled by the novel virus pandemic, all because of our failure to unite against it.

Our situation is extremely dire. On the last day of the year here in the United States, the death, infection, and hospitalization rates of the novel virus pandemic are at its highest peak ever. There are so many alternative facts and realities floating around in our country that some of our health care workers have refused to take the recently approved vaccines, while a rare few have began purposely sabotaging the vaccines, in order to reduce their effectiveness. This should come at no surprise to us, since we, the United States, made the act of wearing a mask into a political issue, when it was a simple act of survival, because anything goes in the land of the Wild West.

So, are we going to be okay? The United States, probably not, but, humanity will survive, since we, humans, have always been better and greater than our strongest empire. The United States that we knew of yesterday, is no longer the same country we see today, because we have chosen to voluntarily close our borders and minds, thinking we have all the answers in our American First policy. There is hope, however, rising from the East, as we see that many Asian and Oceania countries have succeeded in keeping their citizens and communities safe from the global novel virus pandemic that is uncontrolled, here in the United States.

Today, the great empire of the United States, which is only historically rivaled by Babylon and Rome, is in a steady decline, just as Rome was two thousand years ago. Our decision, just four years ago, to choose a narcissistic showman to lead our great country, is now the leading cause of our citizen’s death. This is only because capitalism forces you to chose individualism over humanity, even when common sense and logic dictate otherwise.

We are experiencing a fall to remember, as we see a great empire self-destruct from a preventable novel virus pandemic, which is engulfing every corner of our country. The United States is starting off the New Year on the wrong foot and we are still celebrating, because the stock market demands financial expenses as sacrifice. The mighty dollar has won, while our humanity has been lost to trickle down economics, which helps prop up an economic system that only works for the top one percent, millionaires and billionaires who avoid paying their fair shares of taxes.

Therefore, this new year, make sure to remember that your humanity includes those around you, whether you know them or not. Every choice and decision that we make, has a negative and positive consequence, whether we experience it or not, to a fellow person around us. We cannot begin a new year making the same mistake as the past. This New Year, we must each chose to be our brother and sister’s keeper, because we are one world, one race, and one Humanity.

One Love.
